Reasons to use the Exterra system

90% of premium resorts in Da Nang and Nha Trang have chosen the Exterra termite prevention and interception system
As a result, modern buildings are placing increasing emphasis on this factor. Today, 90% of high-end resorts in Da Nang and Nha Trang have adopted the Exterra termite prevention and barrier system as a solution to reduce the use of polluting chemicals during construction and operation, helping them progressively achieve the Lotus certification, the Green Building rating system developed by the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC).
This council was established in 2007 and is a member of the World Green Building Council, a non-governmental organization comprising approximately 30 countries, headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
In short, Lotus consists of architectural projects that satisfy the criteria: sustainable construction site, design that optimizes water and energy use, minimizes material waste and controls surrounding environmental quality.
According to the representative of Big C, one of the pioneering investors applying Lotus in Vietnam, all 3 of their new supermarket projects in Ninh Binh, Viet Tri and Binh Duong comply with the standards set by Lotus. In which, the factor of controlling living environmental quality and minimizing harmful chemicals into the environment is implemented throughout from the construction stage to the operation stage.
Even stages that require heavy use of chemicals such as preventing termites from damaging constructions are well handled by Big C thanks to applying Exterra clean technology distributed by the Pestman brand of VFC.
Da Nang Golf Club is also a unit applying this technology like Big C. Mr. Le Van Manh, Chief Engineer of Da Nang Golf Club, said that with a simple structure along with environmentally friendly ingredients, the Exterra system is very suitable for installation here.

Efficiency from Exterra
The efficiency and green nature of the Exterra station come from termite-attracting Focus granules of plant origin, eucalyptus wood taken from artificial forests and Requiem termite bait compound. All the above ingredients are of natural origin, permitted to be exploited. Especially, Requiem is also tested and certified to be harmless to humans and pets by prestigious laboratories and universities in Singapore, Philippines, Australia, USA…
Meanwhile, in developed countries, the concept of green buildings has been widely popularized for a long time and started to bring efficiency. In the USA, 200 buildings receiving green building certificates have reduced about 30% of water and 30-50% of energy consumption each year, while significantly cutting down the amount of toxic chemicals used during construction to protect constructions from termites. Since 2000, this country has had a total of 1,500 certified buildings and 11,000 constructions starting to apply.
Mr. Do Phuoc Hung, Deputy General Manager of Pandanus Resort (Binh Thuan) commented that after a period of using Exterra, this system continues to promote its effectiveness in maximum protection of constructions against termites in a proactive, convenient and easy manner in operation, while being completely environmentally friendly. According to Mr. Hung, this is just the first step in the process where Pandanus Resort begins to apply green standards to protect the environment instead of old methods which would affect groundwater sources.
