The Hien Luong – Ben Hai Historic Sites Conservation Zone in Quang Tri Province, with an investment of over 680 million VND, commenced construction in September 2003. The pillars and floorboards were hollowed out by termites, rendering the property unable to remain open for visitors.

Another structure in Cao Thuong Village, northern Bac Giang Province, shared the same fate.
