Challenges Vinh Hoan faced before implementing the service
Before working with VFC PestMan, the Vinh Hoan factory faced challenges in controlling flies in raw material and by-product areas, as well as the risk of rodent entry from the surrounding environment.
-
High fly density in raw material and by-product areas
The receiving and processing of seafood raw materials and the management of by-products create areas that can easily attract flies. High fly density not only creates challenges for sanitation but also affects the factory’s image, particularly when customers and partners visit the facility or assess production conditions.
-
Rodents appearing during the day around the factory
The factory is located close to the river, with numerous harbourage sites and diverse food sources in the surrounding area, creating favourable conditions for rodents to live and enter the facility. Rodents appearing even during the day indicated significant control pressure, requiring regular monitoring and preventive measures around the perimeter.
VFC PestMan strengthens pest control from the perimeter to production areas
-
Establishing a trapping system around the factory perimeter
VFC PestMan deployed a trapping system around the perimeter to strengthen monitoring and control of rodent entry. Placing traps around the outer perimeter helped focus control on risk areas while also providing a basis for tracking changes in rodent activity throughout the service period. -
Periodic sanitation spraying and insect control
The VFC PestMan team carried out periodic monthly sanitation spraying, focusing on supporting insect control in areas at risk of pest occurrence. The programme was implemented to reduce pressure from flies, mosquitoes, ants and cockroaches within the factory environment, with particular attention to raw material and by-product areas where high fly activity had been recorded. -
Coordinated inspection and treatment of risk areas
In addition to the periodic service schedule, VFC PestMan coordinated with the factory to inspect actual conditions, receive feedback and address issues as they arose. The technical team also provided pest control documentation when needed, making it easier for the responsible team at Vinh Hoan to monitor and coordinate the work.
Results after service implementation
-
Rodent density gradually decreased
Control activities around the factory perimeter recorded a gradual downward trend in rodent density during implementation, helping limit the risk of rodents entering from the surrounding environment.
-
Significant improvement in fly activity
The fly situation at the factory improved, with flies no longer observed flying in front of customers during facility visits, contributing to a better visitor experience and a more professional factory image.
-
Significant reduction in insects
In addition to rodents and flies, other insects and pests such as cockroaches, mosquitoes and ants were no longer observed, helping the factory feel more confident and better prepared before each factory assessment.
“The greatest advantage of VFC PestMan for me is their willingness to provide insect control documentation whenever needed. The technical team always responds quickly and handles emergency situations flexibly.”
