Snake identification and control training program for resorts

As part of its commitment to supporting customers in preventing and controlling common pests found in homes, workplaces, and business facilities, PestMan recently organized a snake identification and control training session at Laguna Lang Co Da Nang.

According to statistics, more than 200 snake species have been identified and documented in Vietnam, including 22 species of sea snakes and 184 terrestrial snake species. This demonstrates the remarkable diversity in both the number and distribution of snake species throughout Vietnam.

Snakes are often viewed as deadly animals, and even non-venomous species can still cause intense fear among humans. Therefore, identifying signs of snake activity, distinguishing snake species through bite marks, applying timely first aid measures, and implementing snake control procedures have become top priorities, especially in crowded areas and green landscapes such as resorts. Recognizing the importance of this issue, PestMan organized the snake identification and control training program with the participation of Mr. David Campion, Environmental and Community Director of Laguna Resort, along with representatives from various departments, especially those frequently exposed to snakes such as security staff, golf course attendants, landscape teams, and gardeners.

During the training session, Laguna Resort staff received detailed guidance on snake behavior, commonly found species in the area, how to identify snakes through bite marks, and first aid procedures in case of snakebite incidents.

The training session received highly positive feedback from both the management board and staff of Laguna Resort due to its practical value in improving guest safety and service conditions throughout the resort.

The program is expected to be expanded not only throughout the province but also across other PestMan branches nationwide.
